Urban culture drives genres such as hip hop unapologetically.
Takudzwa TK’s catalogue and influences show a concrete urban foundation that
has birthed the rapper in him. The flexing and chain lifestyle of most hip-hop
cats is a resemblance of the dreamland that urban youths fantasize about – a
generation that is at the mercy of westernization. Hip hop being multifaceted
embraces a party lifestyle making everything competitive about this game.
“I got inspired by my life experiences, TV and urban culture in general,” revealed the rapper based in Waterfalls. The boy had a fair share of the ghetto after growing up in Mufakose.
He is the founder of a label called Young whilst also
affiliated to Handei which is a music and clothing brand. At the age of 27
Takudzwa is chanelling his focus on going mainstream and has confirmed a full-length
project dropping any minute from now featuring some hot names in the game.
Browsing through his young catalogue, there are tracks like
Big Body Benz with that urban partying bounce and full of style in his flows. Some
of his tracks include My Time and Popping ft Cube which also solidify his plot.
He has worked with producers like Victor Enlisted, Futronic,
Phoenix3x and Pepzee throughout the years.
With hip hop’s rapid growth recently, the industry should be
ready for an urban culture takeover. Check out Takudzwa TK's last single Big Body Benz
