Young,
radiant, dynamic, and born in the City of Progress (Gweru) is
Kuzivakwashe Allan Nyengedza, a Hip-Hop/Rap artist based in Kwekwe, and known
by his stage name ‘Allan Dyce’.
Dyce
has released an EP, ABANDAZI, which is Xhosa for ‘They Don't Know Me’.
He has been around a while, an album to his name too, but the music industry is
difficult to navigate and make that breakthrough. Abandazi caught our
attention; the title track features Asaph and Dyce had to be dope to get The
People's Rapper spit a verse for his track.
He
released an album titled Korona (Crown), voted to be part of the Kings of
Hip-hop for Hip-hop Basement Power FM in 2018. He has over 20 singles in his discography.
The new EP is a five track project.
Ndiripo
Zvangu is the intro track where he had to remind us that he
is still around even though he had not released music in over a year. He lays
his vision in B.E.T, a track about how he would one day win the
prestigious BET award. B.E.T is also a metaphor for him being successful
in general in his musical career.
Ini
Newe
is a sampled version of the urban groves hit Tinodanana by Alexio and
Tererai with a hip-hop feel to it. He roped in the mellow soulful voice of
Ruvimbonashe.
Dyce
is entertaining. He gets you hooked from the first listen. Great delivery with
perfect cadence. His beat selection is also great. He works with Larynx a lot;
obviously the production aspect of his music is in safe hands. Larynx really
means creator of sound. That speaks volumes on it's own.
