Tonderai Ndiraya is not happy a man. Simba Bhora make it 2 losses on the bounce with the latest defeat to the Gamecocks, Chicken Inn.
“Today, just like what happened last week, we conceded
from a set piece, a direct ball coming from the wings, I thought we defended
poorly there and it’s something which I’m very much disappointed about,” said Ndiraya
What is
not clear from that statement is if he meant team defence as a whole or his
actual defenders plus the keeper. Whatever the case, it can still be rectified
in training.
“I
thought we did, but it’s the commitment towards clearing that ball away. We
defended casualy if you ask me, whoever attacked that ball did it casually and
Chicken Inn got their goal” he added.
However duels are not a straightforward phenomenon. You can not win them all and sometimes variance comes into play. Simba may have been unlucky with set-pieces but they shouldn't have to be defending very deep either.
FC
Platinum 1-0 Cranborne Bullets
Mapeza
set a 13 of a possible 15 point target for his side in the first 5 games of the
league. Starting well does not guarantee winning the league but it certainly
gives you a good shot. FC Platinum made it 2 of 2 victories and sit second on
the table but only behind The Glamour Boys, Dynamos due to goal difference.
The
Platinum Boys beat Cranborne Bullets 1-0 in a match played at Mandava Stadium
in Zvishavane via Brian Banda’s strike late in the fist half.
Black
Rhinos 0-1 Highlanders
Highlanders
recorded edged Black Rhinos through McKinnon Mushore's goal in the second half
at the National Sports Stadium. Elsewhere at Baobab Stadium CAPS were held to a
nil all draw by Ngezi Platinum Stars.
Sheasham
0-4 Dynamos
Sheasham
were obliterated by the Glamour Boys. Dynamos needed however, Zivanai
Chikwenhere's 2 own goals. A game to forget for the Construction Boys defender.
Their head coach, John Nyikadzino even admitted after the game that he was not
expecting that margin loss. It was a game they expected to not win with the way
they handled business in the first half.
The
defeat makes it their second of the season
Dynamos
Skipper Frank Makarati added another one from the spot with Emmanuel Paga’s
late strike in the second half pretty much buried the tie for what was and
should have been a routine win for Dembare.
