TAKUDZWA HILLARY CHIWANZA
Where some may have deemed it worthy to write epitaphs on the success on reggae-dancehall sounds in Zimbabwe, some artists continue to ignore such preposterous claims as they maintain their impressive work ethic. Jahnoz Extrabad has released a new video titled Undercover in which he showcases the brilliance of Helmets dancehall in Zimbabwe.
Undercover by Jahnoz is a visual presentation expressing proclivities of unfiltered scenes that make Zimdancehall a befitting sound for the streets.
Directed by Atom, we see Jahnoz asserting his genius creativity and this makes me one of the exciting talents to watch in Zimbabwe's urban music landscapes.
He cares less about fanciful extravagance and the video portrays an aesthetic of the current dancehall trends that currently consume the interests of the youthful populations. Here and there, we see a bit of consumerist inclinations, such as Hennessy references, but that's just that.
He hops on the 2020-produced riddim by BiggDogg, which artists such as Silent Killer and Dobba Don added their voices too.
With this video, we are rest assured that the Zimdancehall off-shoot genre of Helmets is here to stay.
