The curtain closes on the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2023 on Sunday 9 July, with the top two teams in the Super Six stage – Sri Lanka and the Netherlands – facing off in the final at Harare Sports Club in the capital.
This will mark the conclusion to what has been an exhilarating tournament in which dreams were achieved, and in which hearts were broken.
And to this effect, Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) have announced that the final between Sri Lanka and the Netherlands will be free of charge.
Both teams have already sealed their places for the Cricket World Cup to be hosted in India later this year; and the final match is simply to decide the champion of the Qualifier tournament.
ZC Chairman Tavengwa Mukuhlani said: “We are sincerely grateful to all the fans who have come to support Zimbabwe and all the teams throughout the World Cup Qualifier.
“As a small token of our appreciation, we will open the gates to the final, so that as many people as possible can come and celebrate their love for cricket.”
The ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier saw record-breaking attendances as tens of thousands of fans came to watch amazing displays of cricketing brilliance.
