HARARE—The Zimbabwe film and television community will be in a celebratory mood on Saturday 2 December as the Cinema Society of Zimbabwe celebrates the outstanding performances of 2023.
The inaugural Zimbabwe Annual Film and Television Awards will be held under the theme; 'Leveraging Business Synergies for Global Impact.'

The awards will be held at the Wisdom City Church located at 55 Kwame Nkrumah Avenue in Harare. The red carpet festivities start at 1700, hosted by veteran broadcaster Christina Nyirenda-Chimuka and TV personality Carrol Makoni.
Speaking to ZimSphere, CSZ spokesperson Richard Tentone said preparations for the big night are at an advanced stage.
"We are looking forward to a night of pomp and fanfare as we honour everyone who has contributed to the progression of Zimbabwean film and television. This is just another step in our work to foster a sense of order, clarity, and respect for all the creative professionals within the industry," said Tentone.
The nominees for the extensive thirty five categories were announced on 28 October 2023, with an additional 'Social Media' category announced on 4 November 2023.
The main show shall be hosted by ubiquitous names in Zimbabwean film and television. These are; The Story of Nehanda lead actress Eunice Tava Chikowore, model and actress Fungai Charlyn Majaya, and Sinclair Tumpkin.
Entertainment will be provided by Zim Hip Hop legend Maskiri, RnB crooner Elliot KOH, rising rappers Raykaz and Mvpani, comedian IamSigh, Afrojazz artist and actor Tendex, and Kudzie Kayz.
