HARARE – The third round of the 2024 Zimbabwe Castle Premier Soccer League (PSL) season saw a staggering six stalemates and only Bulawayo Chiefs winning by more than a 1 goal margin. The good thing though—it marked the return of football action to Rufaro Stadium, the ‘ceremonial home of football’.
Highlanders Edge Simba Bhora
Bosso are now in the second position on the log standings with seven points and are only separated from leaders FC Platinum by goal difference.
Melikhaya Ncube's 83rd minute strike helped Bosso climb up the table to second place—only behind leaders FC Platinum on goal difference as well as maintain their unbeaten streak after edging Simba Bhora 1-0 at Barbourfields Stadium in Bulawayo on Thursday.
FC Platinum & Chicken Inn Share Spoils
FC Platinum is still top of the league standings on 7 points, just ahead of Highlanders on goal difference; while Telone is trailing by two points.
The Platinum boys maintained their grip at the top early in the season with a 2-2 draw against Chicken Inn at Mandava Stadium in Zvishavane on Thursday—and they will be hoping to maintain their form for the rest of the campaign.
Lawrence Mhlanga opened the scoring in the 7th minute before the Gamecocks scored two quick goals courtesy of Lincoln Mangaira and Micheal Charamba.

Football Returns To Rufaro Stadium
In Harare, Rufaro Stadium hosted its first league match of the season where Bikita Minerals stunned Caps United winning by a goal to nothing.
In another match at Rufaro, Dynamos' scoring woes continued in their match against Yadah; despite having dominated much of the game.
Dembare has only managed 2 points from a possible 9 and cannot seem to find their scoring boots.
The Glamour Boys created several chances and had a goal was ruled out after the referee spotted an infringement during the build-up.
It's still very early into the season with a lot of time to turn around their misfortune thus far.
Elsewhere
TelOne and Greenfuel played a 1-1 draw in Chisumbanje, while the games between Arenel & Herentals, Manica Diamonds & Chegutu Pirates, ZPC Kariba & Ngezi Platinum all ended in goalless draws.
Bulawayo Chiefs got their first win of the season after beating Hwange 2-0 at the Colliery.
