GOKWE – Police in Gokwe, Midlands Province, are searching for two employees of NetOne who allegedly defrauded the company of US$94,793. The theft was discovered during an internal audit.
Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko, the provincial police spokesperson, identified the suspects as Codesser Moyo, 35, a customer care representative, and Fungai Daka, 37, a supervisor.
"Zimbabwe Republic Police is on a manhunt for two (alleged) fraudsters who stole US$94,793 from their employer," said Mahoko.
The alleged fraud took place between October 13, 2023, and November 18, 2023.
According to Mahoko, the commercial manager and loss control officer from NetOne in Harare conducted a sales reconciliation at the Gokwe shop and noticed a discrepancy of US$94,793.
During the reconciliation period, Moyo, from Dzivarasekwa in Harare, and Daka, from Warren Park D, Harare, vanished from their workstation.
