After winning the toss and opting to bowl first, Zimbabwe's bowlers were unable to effectively support Blessing Muzarabani, who delivered an impressive performance with figures of 3-14.
Faraz Akram, stepping in for the injured Richard Ngarava, struggled with control, ending with costly figures of 1-44. Bangladesh set a competitive target of 165/6, with Towhid Hridoy leading the scoring with 57 off 38 balls.
Zimbabwe's chase began poorly, with the top order failing to make substantial contributions. Early exits from Joylord Gumbie (9 runs), Brian Bennett (5 runs), Sikandar Raza (1 run), and Craig Ervine (7 runs) placed the team in a challenging position.
Despite the initial setbacks, Tadiwanashe Marumani (31 off 26) and Jonathan Campbell (21 off 10) kept Zimbabwe's hopes alive. A 54-run partnership between Faraz Akram and Wellington Masakadza sparked hopes of a potential comeback.
However, disciplined death overs bowling from Taskin Ahmed and Mohammad Saifuddin ensured Bangladesh's victory. The hosts now hold an unassailable lead in the series.
