ZVISHAVANE - A man from Mberengwa has been sentenced to six years in prison by the Zvishavane Magistrates Court for an acid attack on a fellow snooker player at a bar.

Tafadzwa Mpofu, 26, was convicted of attempted murder under Section 189 as read with Section 47(1) of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act Chapter 9:23, according to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA).

The incident occurred on May 27, 2024, at Mutekedza Shops in Mberengwa. Mpofu and the victim, Riller Ndlovu, 29, were involved in a dispute over snooker tokens.
