JOHANNESBURG—The Zimbabwean Consulate in Johannesburg, South Africa, has commenced a trial run of its new electronic passport (e-passport) processing centre, according to a public notice issued by Consul-General Eria Phiri.
The rollout will occur in two stages, with the first phase focused on system testing and training consulate staff. This phase began on June 15, 2024, and the trial run is scheduled from June 18 to June 21, 2024.
A limited number of clients, randomly selected from those visiting the consulate at 13A Boeing Road West, Bedfordview, will participate.
"The trial run will allow the Consulate to gauge the level of system responsiveness and effectiveness in a real-world environment before the full rollout to the public," the statement read.
The second phase, which is the full rollout to the public, will be announced before June 21, 2024.
