CHINHOYI – Chinhoyi-based music producer Guylord Muyengwa, popularly known as DJ Gunz, has unveiled his debut single Havachatikwanisa, featuring a lineup of local artists.
The track showcases the talents of Skiller, FeaniQ, Batsie, Milereto, Gyal Kylie, Tony K, Kaysid, and Yv, and was recorded at Leftside Records, currently located in Chinhoyi.
In an interview with ZimSphere, DJ Gunz expressed his enthusiasm about the collaborative project.
"I feel excited to combine Chinhoyi's finest artists and come together to make a song as one," he said.
Havachatikwanisa is a powerful anthem about overcoming life's struggles, imbued with a message of resilience and faith.
"The song is about us overcoming struggles in our lives, and we believe no one is going to stop us because we have Jesus Christ on our side," Gunz explained.
He is optimistic about the song's unique sound and its potential to gain potential international recognition; if fortune favours him.
DJ Gunz, who relocated from Harare to Chinhoyi to advance his music career, highlighted the need for sponsorship to bolster Chinhoyi's music industry.
"I used to stay in Harare, but I moved to Chinhoyi to work so that I can support my music career," he said.
"In Chinhoyi, we need sponsors for videos and for marketing our music on social media."
Since starting his music career in 2017, DJ Gunz has worked with several prominent artists, including Dobba Don, D Flexx, PreacherMan, Princo Spice, Jahnoz, Silent Killer, Pumacol, and Stambo.
