In memoriam — A tribute to Ms. Victoria Rusvoto

BY THE CINEMA SOCIETY OF ZIMBABWE

HARARE — It is with profound sadness that we mourn the passing of our dear friend and colleague, Ms. Victoria Rusvoto. Victoria was a true pioneer and pillar of Zimbabwe's film industry, whose invaluable contributions spanned over three decades.

As a founding member of Screen Talent Productions since the 1980s, Victoria played an instrumental role in nurturing and mentoring countless artists and filmmakers in our community.

Her unwavering dedication, passion, and wealth of experience were instrumental in helping many of us break into the industry and achieve our dreams.

Victoria's work graced some of Zimbabwe's most iconic productions; including Peretera Maneta, Sharing Day, I Want A Wedding Dress, Murambiwa, and Ndakaitei.

Her talent, creativity, and tireless efforts left an indelible mark on the Zimbabwean film landscape.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Victoria was a kind, generous, and compassionate individual who touched the lives of all who knew her.

She was a true mentor and friend, always willing to lend a helping hand or offer sage advice to those seeking to follow in her footsteps.

The Cinema Society of Zimbabwe extends our deepest condolences to Victoria's family, friends, and all those whose lives she has impacted.

She will be deeply missed, but her legacy will continue to inspire and guide us as we strive to uplift and grow the Zimbabwean film industry that she loved so dearly.

May her soul rest in eternal peace.
