HARARE - The highly-anticipated inaugural edition of the Mosi-oa-Tunya International Film Festival (MOTIFF) has been postponed to late August.

According to a brief statement released on July 23, the decision was influenced by Zimbabwe’s hosting of the 44th SADC Summit which will run from 28 July with the 7th SADC Industrialisation Week and culminate with the SADC Summit of Heads of State and Government on 17 August.

“This (the postponement) is due to advice from our stakeholders, that in line with national objectives, major events would be better placed after the SADC Summit set to be held in Harare earlier in the month,” reads part of the statement.

The organisers reassured the public that the promises they had made prior to this postponement still hold water, concluding;

“We regret any inconveniences this may cause; however, we are pleased to share that our incredible line up of events and activities remains unaffected.”

Fronteras Capital Chairman Dumisani Nyoni was not immediately available for comment.
