TAKUDZWA HILLARY CHIWANZA
LORD PIPER, a rapper within the confines of Zim Hip Hop, has released a new single titled Nyamasvisva Swag Freestyle, which marks his return from a conspicuous period of absence.
He is not a new name, being a mainstay in the game, albeit in the fringes. Yet, the work he has put out over the years shows us he is not a talent to dismiss.
Born Tafadzwa Nhari, Lord Piper sees himself as a vital cog in the machine that is called hip-hop, and his past works vindicate him. As such, Nyamasvivsa Swag Freestyle is a tribute to his 2018 debut EP, Nyamasvisva Swag, that thrust him into the spotlight.
In addition to being a statement of intent, the concept of Nyamasvisva Swag on the whole serves as a homage to his totem, Nhari Unendoro. How he combines this together in a quick freestyle track is a sign that he is a rapper out to prove his mettle.

The track sees him declaring his rightful space within the game—the conventional inclinations of any rapper. But he does it with spirit, almost as if acknowledging that although the odds are pretty much stacked against him, he still has a point to prove and will not relent to this effect.
The production on the track is decent, allowing Lord Piper to lay out his well-written verses to the best of his ability. Credit for this goes to the veteran talented producer Victor Enlisted.
With an impressive colorful visual that complements his catchy rhymes and lively delivery, Nyamasvisva Swag Freestyle is a reminder that Lord Piper is here to stay.
