Takesure Zamar, Annatoria pull out of Kingdom World Tour

WITH just over a month to go until Maverick City's Zimbabwe stop of the Kingdom World Tour, controversy has surrounded preparations for the much-anticipated show; with two artists announcing they will no longer take part in the show.

Zamar was scheduled to perform at the show as a supporting act along with The Unveiled, Joyful Praise Choir, Annatoria, and Tembalami.

The highly anticipated Kingdom World Tour featuring the iconic gospel artists Maverick City Music and Kirk Franklin is set to take the stage in Zimbabwe on August 12, 2024, at the Glamis Arena in Harare.

In a social media post shared on Monday afternoon, the South Africa-based gospel star shared, "Due to unforeseen circumstances, Takesure Zamar Ncube and the Worship Addicts will no longer participate in the upcoming Maverick City tour to Zimbabwe as earlier advertised. We thank you for your continued support. God bless you."

Annatoria, who featured on Maverick City's song In The Room earlier this year, also announced that she will not be a part of the show. 

"Hey Family I'm so sorry to announce, your homegirl won't be on the Kingdom Tour as planned. 

"I was looking forward to meeting so many of you and I hope I will one day. But I'm so sorry yalll (sic) and I love you all. God bless x," she mentioned in an Instagram post shared on Tuesday afternoon. 

Speaking to The Herald's Daglous Masveta, event director Pastor Lyncolin Kapswara confirmed Zamar's pull out, but assured fans that preparations for the show are moving along well.

"As he (Zamar) mentioned himself, there were unforeseen circumstances. Preparations are moving along as planned. 

"As with any event, there are always hiccups along the way, but we are happy with the progress we have made," he said.

Pastor Kapswara made promises to fans that replacements for the cancellations will be announced soon.

Speculation is rife on social media over what most conservative Christians consider as 'satanic acts' that featured as part of Will Smith's BET performance, which Kirk Franklin was a part of. 

This is not the first time this year that Kirk Franklin has been embroiled in controversy over contradictions with his Christian faith.

In April, there was an uproar in Jamaica over his performance at an annual gospel concert called “Fun in the Son.”

According to reports, Franklin wore a tank top and shorts whilst gyrating and flexing his biceps during his performance, which drew the ire of many conservative Jamaicans.
