The Warriors finished third in the group standings, with a +1 goal difference being the deciding factor among the three teams tied at 6 points: Comoros, Kenya, and Zimbabwe.

Despite being favorites and controlling Group B proceedings, Zimbabwe failed to overcome a resilient Kenyan side that dominated the second half.

The match saw both teams enjoying possession, but it was the Harambee Stars who were more adept at retaining the ball, while Zimbabwe attempted to break through with wing play.

Kenya's first significant chance came in the 17th minute due to a defensive error by Zimbabwe's goalie Raphael Pitisi and defender Malvin Hativagoni, but Chrispine Erambo's rushed effort spared the Warriors early damage.

The deadlock was broken in the second half with Austin Odhiambo scoring in the 54th minute, followed by Benson Omalla's goal in the 72nd minute, sealing the victory for Kenya.

Comoros topped the group after a 1-0 win against Zambia at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, while Kenya's victory secured them second place in Group B, advancing them to the semifinals.
