HARARE – Zimbabwe's representatives in the CAF inter-club tournaments, Ngezi Platinum Stars and Dynamos, have discovered their preliminary round opponents for the 2024/25 season following Thursday's draw.
Castle Lager Premier Soccer League champions Ngezi Platinum Stars will compete in the CAF Champions League, while Chibuku Super Cup winners Dynamos will feature in the Confederation Cup.
Both teams were seeded as non-ranked due to their five-year absence from the competitions, rendering them ineligible for the CAF Five-Year Ranking.
In the Champions League draw, Ngezi Platinum Stars will face AS Maniema of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Ngezi will host the first leg before traveling to Central Africa for the return match.
The winner of this tie will meet Petro de Luanda of Angola, who received a bye in the preliminary round.
Dynamos, entering the Confederation Cup, will clash with Zambian rivals ZESCO United.
The Glamour Boys will play the first leg at home before heading north of the Zambezi for the second leg.
The victor will advance to face the winner between Orapa United of Botswana and Foresters FC of Seychelles.
The draws set the stage for an exciting return to continental football for both Zimbabwean clubs.
