GWERU – Rising Zimdancehall artist Forward Maphosa, known by his stage name Xiddo Chikandamina, has launched a new EP titled Better Days. Released on Tuesday, we feel the EP is positioned to enhance his career trajectory.
Featuring collaborations with three fellow Zimdancehall musicians—Mr. Zuva from Gweru, Fidel Country Boy, and Ndunge Yut—the EP consists of eight tracks.
Notable songs include Hololo, One Love, Largest, Better Days, Over, Hossana, Nedzoi, and KaThat, the latter featuring Fidel Country Boy.
The project was produced by DJ Flames at Music Hub Studios in Gweru.
Speaking with ZimSphere, Xiddo revealed that the EP was inspired by his life experiences.
"This EP was inspired by the series of my life. It's a prophetic title, and I feel better days are upon my life," he said. "The EP talks about my love life, what I've been through, and where I'm going."
Xiddo embarked on his musical journey in 2018 and has since become a Zimdancehall icon in Gweru.
"I started my music journey in 2018 and have managed to collaborate with major figures in the music industry," he noted.
His collaborations include renowned artists such as Baba Harare, Andy Muridzo, Gift Amuli, Jah Master, and Legion.
"So far, I've gained experience and exposure by sharing the stage with big musicians like Winky D," he added.
The EP was launched in Gweru on August 31. Initially, Xiddo released a single featuring Mr. Zuva and subsequently made the entire EP available on Tuesday.
