NEW MUSIC: OCD’s ‘Dzimura Moto’ with Icey Ekxne, Slyme Foxx, Young Gemini and Karville an affair of bars and catchy hooks

So, the gang at Off Centre Department (OCD) have a new rap release out, featuring the usual suspects at their usual shenanigans. Titled Dzimura Moto, the song brings together the best from Slyme Foxx, Karville, Young Gemini, and Icey Ekxne. 

Dzimura Moto comes around mostly as a raw, unfiltered, and sometimes lewd offering, with the artists telling their stories without blurring anything.

The most catchy aspect definitely has to be Karville with his smooth vocal giving the song a pleasant hook, as the other rappers exchange the rap baton stick in a manner oozing nascent excellence that should not be ignored. Karville's vocal has an authoritative yet convincing feel to it. 

Slyme Foxx delivers his usual gritty style and delivery with lyrics that traverse issues of urban life for youthful populations. Young Gemini is out to prove herself as one of the best in the game – an endeavour she excels at in the song. She leaves no stone unturned. 

And Icey Ekxne complements the work laid by the two rappers in a manner that sounds effortless at times; and a bit too stretched other times. 

As with OCD rap stories in their releases, some of the stories tend to get convoluted but what comes to the fore with unparalleled ease are the bars – in the context of Slyme Foxx and Icey Ekxne. As well as Young Gemini on the song. It is a song that does not follow any conventional storyline but gives the rappers room to say out what they feel has to be said in that particular instance. 

On the overall, it is a decent release that you could use to convince someone to listen to Zimbabwean hip-hop. 

And also, OCD as a collective has much potential.
