HWANGE – A 49-year-old security guard from Hwange stands accused of four counts of aggravated indecent assault, following allegations of sodomising three males, including a 17-year-old boy. The case was brought before the Hwange Magistrates' Court, highlighting a shocking breach of trust.

According to the State, on August 10, 2024, the accused offered accommodation to a 17-year-old who had recently secured employment at the same workplace. The young man accepted the offer to stay at the accused's residence.

The following night, while the two were asleep in the same bedroom, the accused allegedly engaged in anal sexual intercourse with the boy without his consent.

The traumatized teenager confided in a friend and coworker, who advised him to sleep wearing tight-fitting clothes to ward off further advances.

Despite these precautions, the accused reportedly assaulted him again on August 13.

Further allegations emerged that the security guard indecently assaulted two more male colleagues, aged 19 and 18, employing the same method on August 15 and August 25, respectively.

The accused has been remanded in custody, with the court date set for October 25, 2024.
