HARARE – The Nate Foundation, in partnership with the National Blood Service, will host the "Miles for Marrow" Charity Walk/Run on November 30, 2024, at St. Michael’s Preparatory School in Borrowdale. The initiative highlights a growing need for community action to support individuals living with these rare and life-threatening disorders.

The event will feature 5km and 10km walk/run routes and a dance fitness class led by award-winning choreographer John Cole, encouraging participants to get active while contributing to a worthy cause.

Key objectives include:

  • Raising $20,000 to support treatment for patients with FA and AA.
  • Partnering with media outlets to raise awareness and promote blood donation on the day of the event.
  • Driving community participation to increase blood donations and attendance.

The Nate Foundation says blood shortages are a critical issue in the nation, and this event is not just about raising funds, but about saving lives through actionable contributions like blood donations.

The Nate Foundation is calling on individuals, organizations, and media partners to amplify awareness of "Miles for Marrow" in order to reach the widest possible audience.

With supporters from across Zimbabwe and beyond expected to attend, the event seeks to provide a platform for education, advocacy, and immediate impact through blood donation drives.
