TAKUDZWA HILLARY CHIWANZA
Now this may come as one of those unexpected collaborations, but we think everything about it is just as perfect as it can get.
Tamy Moyo has released a new single titled Mamero, featuring the fiery dancehall chanter Silent Killer. It is a song produced and delivered on the premise of hardcore dancehall sounds; and it is a concept that was well executed. One of those releases that catches you unaware and leaves you marvelling at the sheer genius exhibited.
One could say it is a masterstroke of a collaboration. For the simple fact that it's writing shows some good level of seriousness—the song gives writing credits to Tamy Moyo, Delroy Shewe, and Silent Killer (Silent Killer, affectionately known as Ngwere, will continue to go off claiming he does not write anything down. But that is a story for another day). Produced by Rodney Beatz, the song engenders a dancehall feel that can bring "mad shellings" to any dancefloor.
We feel this single will need a video to give it the massive reach it deserves. Because for once, Silent Killer showed some enviable seriousness (after all, ngoma dziri mumoyo kunge Tamy).
Tamy's vocal range shines so ever brilliantly, on a song that talks about how it is such a Herculean task to trust people ('mamero' being colloquial for 'snitches')—and these are the type of themes that Silent Killer truly excels at.
And again, on the issue of the surprise element—we were not aware that Tamy, Silent Killer, Rodney Beatz, and Delroy can bring such an awesome level of chemistry.
