Shanghai-based Afropop musician Tapiwanashe Kelvin Muzota, whose stage name is 5nine, has released a new EP titled Bindura Hunk - A Love Potion, a six-track collection of love songs; and it marks a new chapter in 5nine’s artistic journey, offering an intimate exploration of love, passion, and connection.
The new project comes a year after the release of his well-received Optimus Vibes EP, as he continues to steadily build on the momentum from his previous release; promising that 2025 will be an even bigger year for his musical career.
While Optimus Vibes EP embodied an energetic vibe of encouragement, Bindura Hunk EP ventures into deeply personal and emotional territory. This project is a heartfelt ode to love, perfect for listening with your significant other or simply in admiration of love’s many forms.
The title Bindura Hunk stands as a reflection of 5nine’s roots and identity as an artist. Bindura, his hometown, serves as a reminder of his beginnings and personal journey. The word ‘hunk’ symbolizes confidence, charm, and self-assurance—qualities 5nine expresses in his music and persona. We feel this title aptly encapsulates his desire to create a project that is authentic to his passions, free from fleeting trends, and deeply fulfilling as a musician.
And here is what he had to say about the new project: “This EP represents who I am and what I love as an artist. It’s about reconnecting with myself and delivering something true to my heart. Naming it Bindura Hunk felt perfect because it reflects my roots and the love I have for creating music that resonates deeply.”
The EP’s mantra, “a love potion,” speaks to the universal appeal of the tracks. 5nine masterfully delivers love songs that anyone can dedicate to their loved ones, blending soulful melodies and heartfelt lyrics into a perfect soundtrack for romance. This project positions 5nine as the “Hunk from Bindura,” a confident yet relatable artist bringing love and authenticity to his audience.
Bindura Hunk EP also highlights 5nine’s commitment to good collaborations.
Featuring collaborations with Odheyi, a Masvingo sensation, and T-KaSh Mbk, a China-based artist, the EP shows good teamwork in this regard. Both collaborators have been instrumental in his music journey, dating back to their days recording together in university dorms. According to 5nine, “This project wouldn’t be complete without the people who were there from day one.”
With Bindura Hunk EP, 5nine has crafted more than just an EP—it’s a love letter to his roots, his craft, and his audience. The six tracks engender his unique flavor of heartfelt storytelling and musical authenticity, offering a collection of songs that will leave listeners enthralled and inspired.
