Google Developer Groups Harare launches "Build with AI" event series to empower developers with cutting-edge AI skills

HARARE – Google Developer Groups (GDG) Harare has announced its Build with AI event series, a dynamic initiative designed to equip developers with hands-on experience in Generative AI technologies.

Running from February 1 to July 31, 2025, this global campaign will feature workshops and a hackathon, fostering innovation and collaboration within Zimbabwe’s tech community.

The organisers expressed elation with the upcoming event, stating: “The Build with AI series is a unique opportunity for developers to gain practical skills in Generative AI and apply them to real-world challenges. We’re excited to see the innovative solutions that will emerge from our community.”

What is Build With AI?

Build With AI events are community-led, hands-on activities hosted by Google Developer Groups and Google Developer Groups on Campus across the world from February 1 to July 31 2025.

These events aim to help developers acquire and apply Generative AI skills to build and integrate applications using the latest Google AI technologies, including AI Studio, the Gemini and Gemma family of models, and Vertex AI.

This particular event series includes Thematic Hands-on Workshop: Guided learning on specific AI tools or topics as well as a prequel to the Hackathon to foster innovation using Google AI tools.
