Indigo Saint shines on virtual stage with Hoppy for #HoppyVibes Concert – A night where hip-hop met healing

TAWANDA CHARI

From the heart of Bulawayo to audiences across the globe, Indigo Saint once again proved why he's one of Zimbabwe's most captivating voices in hip-hop. On April 6, 2025, he partnered with Hoppy—in collaboration with UDR_CHANNEL and Megan On The Radio—to deliver an electrifying virtual experience titled The #HoppyVibes Concert.

But this wasn't just a performance; it was a creative step towards raising awareness about mental health and wellness through the power of hip-hop.

Broadcast live on YouTube, the concert was nothing short of powerful. Indigo Saint, known for his introspective pen and conscious storytelling, brought his A-game with a carefully curated setlist.

The performance kicked off with “Hoppy Vibes” and “Underdog Research,” setting a tone of resilience and self-awareness. As the set progressed with standouts like “Mdali,” “No Cap,” and “Got It,” it became clear that Indigo Saint was connecting. Tracks like “Sweet Chin Music,” “Mood Check,” and “Problem” reminded viewers of how music can hold space for struggle and happiness alike.

Songs such as “Girls,” “David,” and “Catherine” reminded us that even in the fog of emotional turmoil, love and tenderness still find a way to exist. While “In The Way” and “Vibrations” demonstrated his sonic versatility but also maintaining the mental health theme. The set culminated with “Dear Catherine”—a soul-stirring closer that lingered long after the final beat dropped. A moment of catharsis, of laying emotions bare, it was the kind of vulnerability rarely seen in performances.

His engaging stage presence, even through a screen, carried the essence of a live arena show—but with an intimacy that made the experience personal. You could feel every bar, every beat, and every message.

But what made this concert resonate beyond the music was the purpose behind it: mental health. In a world still recovering from the collective trauma of a pandemic, social pressures and economic hardship, mental wellness has become an urgent conversation.

Especially in Zimbabwe, where mental health is still heavily stigmatized, initiatives like #HoppyVibes help chip away at silence and build a new culture of openness and support.

Indigo Saint has always stood for more than just the music. His artistry carries a deep commitment to social consciousness and his role in this campaign reinforced the notion that hip-hop isn’t just entertainment.

The #HoppyVibes Concert showed us that Hip-Hop heals; it’s where beats meet breakthroughs and lyricism becomes therapy.
